Best Cheap Airfare

What is the best way to get cheap airline tickets?

Or who has the best prices? Flying from Southern California to New York.

  1. Order them in advance...they are always cheaper
  2. Specifically for this itinerary, JetBlue is a good bet, because they often have Long Beach, Burbank, and Orange County on sale to New York-JFK Airport. However, Delta and other airlines often match JetBlue whenever they have a sale, so check a source like BookingBuddy which will search just about everything for you, with just 1 input of cities and dates. http://www.bookingbuddy.com http://www.farecompare.com/search/year.html?departure=LAX&destination=NYC&p=1 Use these to find who's cheapest for your itinerary, then go straight to the airline's website to avoid the booking fees that other sites add.
  3. In my experience, AirTrans has the cheapest domestic flights in the states. Jetblue like someone else mentioned is also good. United also has good prices. Your best bet is to go to a number of different websites. No one airline always has the best fare. I recommend the following sites: www.farecast.com www.flightnetwork.com www.expedia.com www.travelocity.com Also, take a look at this free little program, Yapta. It tells you if the price of your plane ticket has dropped so you can contact your airline and find out if they'll refund you the difference (could save you some moolah) The thing I like about farecast.com is they tell you what airlines guarantee the lowest fare on a certain flight so you can start a bidding war between airlines. Hope this helps!
  4. This site lists cheap travel sites: http://www.travelbargainsites.com One site checks all the airlines for the best airfares.
  5. Date please?? JetBlue use to be cheaper try Delta, AA and United. From So. Cal, they are the only non-stop to JFK If you don't mind an extra couple hours: Southwest goes to Islip (Long Island) stop in Vegas, and also use ATA (owned by SWA) with stop in Chicago goes to La Guardia. USAir aslo have a stop somewhere. Cheap at this time of the year????No more...over $450 r/t
