Depends upon where you are and where you want to go. And you say anywhere; so that is easier. There are many sites that are genuine and have offers.

I don't know where you are traveling from or to where. But, Spirit Airlines consistently offers cheap travel. If you sign up for their "really cheap rates" $29 a year, you can get a ticket for as little as $1 each way (when they offer these deals). I just got a round trip ticket from AC to Florida for $130.00, I think that is pretty cheap. This was actually less then expedia, priceline, and orbitz
you just want to fly somewhere? anywhere? Or are you saying you don't care when you go? priceline.com or hotwire.com allow you to bid on airfares...but they ask you for a credit card number when you place your bid and they have 24 hours to give you a fair at the price you said. If they get you one they choose the airlines and times and the tickets are completely non changeable and refundable, but you get to pick the city you go to and from of course. If you have a specific place you need/want to go I recommend seeing which airlines service that market and watching their fares, airlines are always changing their fares and they go up and down. Flexibility on date is good because some low fares are day of the week or time restricted. If you are looking for a vacation and sometimes it is cheaper to book a hotel air package than just the airfare alone, weird but true.
